was soll das eigentlich heißen? ich weiß was die Übersetzung ist aber ich verstehe nicht was es damit auf sich hat.

Also das steht bei den "Protal" Videos und ich weiß das es bei Portal um einen Kuchen geht.

diese stimme will dich immer mit kuchen rumkriegen und überreden. und irgentwer der versucht hat zu flüchten hat das an die wand geschrieben damit du weißt dass du weiter machen sollst.

Also: Bei Portal geht es darum als Tester des Portal-gerätes die Tests, die ein mieser Super-Computer einem stellt, zu lösen. Gegen Ende des Spiels, als der Spieler merkt, dass der böse Super-Computer einen töten will, lehnt dieser sich gegen den Super-Computer auf und will ihn zerstören. Der Computer verspricht dem Spieler, wenn er sich sofort ergibt einen Kuchen(->Cake). Dies ist natürlich nur eine miserabele Ausrede und ein ziemlich schlechter Trick, obwohl Kuchen natürlich nur schwer zu widerstehen ist. Der Kuchen des Supercomputers ist nur ein Trick der in lustigen Wortspielen am Ende dem Spieler versprochen wird. Natürlich existiert der Kuchen nicht und der Spieler lässt sich nicht von dem Geschwätz stören. Im Abspann heißt es dann als lustiges Wortspiel / Ironie : -> The cake is a lie

Ich dachte zunächst das hieße so viel wie "ein Nadelstich im großen Flickenteppich der Zeit" - aber man muss das wohl tatsächlich im Kontext des Sprichwortes

"A stitch in time saves nine" betrachten
- "Ein Stich zur rechten Zeit erspart es 9 mehr zu machen "

Die Geschichte die ich mir dahinter vorstelle:
Ein kleiner fleißiger Schneider erledigt seinen Auftrag rechtzeitig mit viel Bedacht und wenig Aufwand, da er genug Zeit hat, jeden Stich genau zu planen und gezielt zu setzen. Ein anderer, der nicht rechtzeitig anfängt, hat nicht genug Zeit um ordentlich zu planen und näht hektisch drauflos, muss dabei zur Sicherheit mehr Stiche machen, da er sie nicht gezielt setzen kann.
